What to do in the area ?

Take a morning dip

Between the beaches of Sablettes (the closest), Bonne Brise, Abri Côtier, and Bain des Dames, there is no excuse not to enjoy the pleasures of swimming. Be careful of the mistral wind as these beaches are exposed. Prefer the beach of Pointe Rouge when it blows.

Rent a kayak

For a few hours or a full day, take to the open waters. Kayaks can be rented from the Bain des Dames beach, located just a 10-minute walk from the apartment.

Take a mini cruise

From the Pointe Rouge port, during the season, take the RTM maritime shuttle to go to Les Goudes or to the Old Port. The ticket can be purchased on board (5€ for a one-way trip). Remember that if you have a subscription, the shuttle trip is included!

The Baie des Singes

Probably one of my favorite places in Marseille. The small port has a very well sheltered sandy beach from the Mistral. The water is clear. The restaurant of Baie des Singes serves good fish and offers sunbeds for rent.

Go hiking in the hills of the Calanques national park

From the apartment, take the Boulevard de la Grotte Rolland on foot. At the very top, the Park begins. Follow the markings depending on the chosen hike (be careful, access to the Park may be prohibited during hot weather when the wind is blowing due to the risk of fire). Hiking maps are available in the apartment and on the MesCalanques app.

Go on tree-top adventure at Pastré park

In addition to being a very pleasant park where you can picnic and relax in the greenery with a sea view, you will find the Pastré Aventure tree-top adventure course at

www.pastreaventure.com

Sunset at the Big wheel in Borely

On the beaches of Prado, the Borely area has several restaurants with beachfront terraces, as well as a big Ferris wheel. With careful planning, you can admire the sunset there. The magical view of the islands and the sea is breathtaking

Go to a local market

Within the premises of the Théâtre des Calanques, a very small market of local producers (vegetables, fish, wine, cheese, and Marseille sausage) is held every TUESDAY MORNING, which is a great opportunity to restock your supplies just a 5-minute walk from the apartment

Go to the mythical Velodrome stadium

To go to the stadium to watch an OM game, a concert, or just to visit the iconic stadium, take bus 19 which will drop you off directly at the Rond Point du Prado. It's easy! It takes only 15 minutes to get there! You can even see it from the balcony (on the right).

Observe Marseille's maritime life

From the living room, use the available telescope to watch the boats passing by off the coast of Marseille. Many regattas are organized on weekends, and dozens of sails cover the sea.

Visit La friche de l'Escalette, sculptures park

On reservation, you can visit the old lead mine where an outdoor sculpture exhibition is organized every summer. Guided tour is free of charge.
